During our trip, we had to take a ride over the iconic Golden Gate. At it’s completion in 1937, it was the longest suspension bridge in the world and was considered an engineering marvel. The red color was originally intended as primer, but when the steel arrived in San Fransisco, the architects decided to keep the color because it was visible and pleasing to the eye.
