Black Hole Relics (Lunar Room Experience), 84" x 96" Acrylic, spray paint, photo transfer, and oil on canvas 2022 ☄️🪨🪐✨ The relics of the canceled have been launched into space, and some have settled on the moon. These objects are LUNARLY CANCELED. This room recreates the experience, nestling the bed into piles of discarded sculptures and cutouts of offending characters, their significance long since forgotten. The American flag, heroically planted on the moon during the first landing, flies triumphant over the detritus. Cozy up to the fireplace while a cardboard cutout of John Wayne burns, and contemplate the complex myths of the American cowboy and toxic masculinity. 📸 by @joshuawhitephotography
