Ciao, Rome. ❤️🇮🇹 What an absolutely spectacular week it has been- sadly, the Trevi was being refurbished for Jubilee next year so I did not toss a coin in. However, I have every intention of coming back one day. • Real talk, this genuinely did feel like a bit of a pilgrimage, both in my spirituality and in my passions. I mean, first of all, I met the Pope! How can I beat that? But I have also gotten to see sights I only ever dreamed of seeing, cried at more than one cathedral, and felt more in touch with myself than I have in a while. Plus, I got to share all of the above with family and with the love of my life. • An important footnote- I also got to see Pompeii. I’ve always been so strangely fascinated by Pompeii, but I never, NEVER thought I would have the chance to be there in person. The expanse of the ruins, and the quiet solitude I felt when turning down a block no other tourists were on was heavy, and so astounding. • Sadly, it’s time to return to the real world, but I’m already brimming with ideas for our future travel plans.
