Happy World Photography Day. When I was the special age of 12, I moved from Wisconsin to Florida. I was immersed into a completely new environment and wasn’t sure how to communicate this to the many friends I had “left behind.” I picked up a camera at a grocery store one day and it became a habit. If you had known me in middle or high school, you’d remember me always having a disposable or small digital camera on me at all times. It surprised no one when I went on to receive my undergrad and grad degrees in photography, went on to teach photography and become director of a photo gallery before opening treat gallery. Photography has become ubiquitous in everyday life, but it will always be a medium dear to me. There’s no shortage of words I could share.
