I started making films because I wanted my subjects to share their voice. I made this for @circlezeroeight with DP @latergraham. "I was really kinda scared of cheerleading. All the girls on the team seemed kinda intimidating. Movies put out an image that cheerleaders are mean girls that are skinny or rich. In reality, we are just a group of girls who really are committed to the sport. People don't consider cheerleading a sport but if they tried it they would realize how hard it is. You can be the most athletic, you can run the fastest but if you’re not a good teammate or not a good sportsman - I don't think it will get you anywhere.”
