Caroline Blackwood was mostly known as the “muse” and wife of famous male artists, but I think her own literary works should’ve canonized her as one of the best dark comedy writers of the 1900s. It’s a shame a lot of her nonfiction has gone out of print, but NYRB, Virago, and McNally Editions currently print her fiction.
