I’ve just made this comforting Vietnamese Chicken Rice- Com Gà. This is actually a Luke Nguyen recipe on @sbsfood and the reason why I’ve made it is to tell you that SBS is launching a new tv show called ‘Dishing It Up’. The show takes viewers into the kitchens of Australian households as they watch celebrity chefs’ cooking shows and attempt to cook the gourmet dishes in their own kitchens. Kind of like what I’m doing with this recipe as it’s one of the dishes that gets attempted in the show. Dishing It Up premieres on Thursday 29th September at 7:30pm on SBS and @SBSfood. You can also stream the show for free on SBS on Demand. In terms of the recipe itself, this Vietnamese Chicken Rice originates from Hoi An, the middle part of Vietnam. It’s quite similar to a Chinese style Hainanese Chicken rice, but the aromatics are different using tumeric for a yellow colour in the chicken and rice, plus the chicken is served shredded alongside a fresh salad with papaya and carrot. #DishingItUpSBS #JNpartner #AD
