The stonechats have made a return! 🐦 Though i think it'll be a while until i start spending more time with them due to the obvious deer rut that's going on right now 😝 I saw this female stonechat perched up on a piece of dead bracken, as i slowly approached i noticed i could create a very clean composition. Something of which seems hard to do with how dense the bracken can be. I was lucky enough that no distracting strands of bracken entered the frame not only that but the remaining distance vegetation were far enough away to be completely blurred out creating the smoothest of backgrounds. Normally i try to photograph small birds like the stonechats up close for maximum detail, but the way she was perched up and how the bracken created a leading line up to her made me choose to photograph her at a slightly wider perspective. I feel its one of my best images of this species, just for the composition alone.
