Erie County Proposition 1 does not allow the government to change how to RAISE the sales tax - that still requires a 2/3 majority. Erie Co. #Prop1 allows a simple majority vote to CONTINUE our current sales tax rates, because while cutting sales tax seems nice, it would mean having to take higher property taxes which would hit a lot of us in a tougher way.
