“There are many ways to love your body, but fueling your body with nutritious food is the highest form of self-respect.” ~ Ania Drosnes Got RED Meat? 🥩 A fat Ribeye or Prime Rib along with a loaded baked or sweet potato is my go-to pre- long run or race meal. I know...I know...discussing nutrition in the endurance community is like discussing religion. But for me, as an endurance athlete, transitioning over to the OFM (Optimized Fat Metabolism) nutrition regimen has been a complete game changer for my performance! I still eat carbs! Yes, during my races and during the week. The only difference is when and how much I take in. This strategic fueling has allowed my body to utilize a larger percentage of fat to carb burn ratio during my runs or workouts. This allows me to maintain a higher level of performance while reducing the required carb intake. I try to listen to my body. I try to eat as clean as possible. I figure if I am going to demand a greater level of performance from my body, then I better provide it with a clean source of nutrition. This is what I have found works best for me. Strive to find what works best for you.
