Our final spotlight to close our SomethingTM Spaces & @jcdecaux_uk collaboration is the talented @dedouze. He shares with us what influences his creative process. What’s the inspiration behind the piece that’s featured? This was inspired by old french animated series from my teenage years & it’s also an homage to the french artist Moebius who was inspired a lot by his journeys in the deserts of South America & Africa How does your heritage influence your creative process? We don’t see it on the images, but music has a big role in my process. I sit on the piano to find the rhythm for my animated sequences, or to stimulate my imagination for still images. From where i grew up, in Madagascar, bringing a music instrument at a party is something as natural as bringing some beers & snacks, & that’s how it became something very natural for me. What is currently driving your creativity? I still watch & rewatch the old classics from Japan. For me, it’s important to be open to what is done all around the world if i want to achieve something greater than what i’ve done before Can you share one thing that you find interesting right now? Sculpting on clay, it’s amazing. It’s what i’ve been trying to do with 3D softwares for years, but it’s in real life! #SomethingSpaces #Dedouze
