Friends & Neighbors, Salvatori, 2021 At the height of the pandemic, when we were isolated in our homes, we lost sight of the people living around us. Even when we did venture outdoors, faces were shielded behind masks. The Friends & Neighbors mirrors collection for Italian natural stone specialists Salvatori pays homage to the familiar faces that were suddenly obscured as a result of the pandemic. Using offcuts of marble in a range of colors, sizes and finishes, we created two wall hanging and two tabletop mirrors (with an optional rocking base). The assemblage of rich and diverse materials has the potential to remind us of all the people that shape our surroundings and how these complex relationships shape us in return.
