beyond the physical benefits of cold exposure (reduced inflammation, faster recovers, increased immunity) here’s what I always say when someone asks me what’s the point — we are purposefully stressing our nervous systems to practice our response to stress in a controlled environment (you could get out of the ice if you really wanted to) but in learning to stay + use our breath to regulate ourselves back into a calm state, we are improving our ability to do the same when we encounter stress in our day to day 🫶🏼
