Meet the shoe artisans of @risquedesigns ✨ 4 DAYS LEFT TO SHOP ‘RETASHOES’, a collaboration with @riotasoclothing at @artefinoph ❤️ “Shoemaking, much like making clothes, starts from a pattern. Materials for the upper and lining of the shoe will be cut, assembled and sewn by the uppermakers. A finished upper is given to a shoe maker, who puts it over a shoe last with the desired shape, height and size, then proceeds with lasting it. With the combination of adhesive, nails and manual pressure, the shoe is formed and prepared for outsole attachment. Once the outsole is attached, sometimes an additional step of handstitching the sole is done. Lastly, the shoe is cleaned and a foamed socklining is stamped with the logo and attached on the insole. At least 3 to 4 shoe artisans are needed to finish the shoe after the patchwork is sent to the studio.” - @taldeguzman
