Guys pinch me 🥺🦋!!! @maryahananda and I hosted an immersive Thai-Lao food-art experience at @sincerelytommy_ this past Saturday, sponsored by @ourplace, and I’m still shaking from all the feels. Not only was the event Maryah and @hernameisnala’s first-ever pop-up, it was also the first event that Our Place ever sponsored. We’re so, so grateful and blown away by the power of community here in NY. 200 of you beautiful souls gave us the honor to nourish your bellies and we ran out of food in just 2 hours, despite having planned papaya salad ingredients for 150 people 🥹🇹🇭🇱🇦 (we promise we’ll have more food next time!!!) Maryah and I met at a brand event back in August and from the moment we talked, our energies just clicked. She was electric— full of passion, creativity, and a unique zest for her culture, food, and all the beautiful experimentation that comes with that. From that conversation we envisioned an event that would bring forth under-tasted Thai & Lao flavors that we both grew up loving so dearly, so that we could share those very flavors with our beloved communities here in NYC. Eight months later we finally brought it to life and it was indeed one of those manifested pinch-me moments— one that I will cherish for life.
