This young stag had just finished having a tussle in the bracken with another younger rival. This is not my ideal lighting conditions to photograph in. It was sunny but the stag was just out of the light and in the shade. I'd normally just not bother trying to take a picture but in this instance i did & personally i feel it worked out. It definitely changes the look up a little as i normally shoot in slightly cloudy weather for the nice diffused light. If you look to the right of him you should be able to see his breath, I had to wait for a few seconds before taking the image as this was covering his face which made it look a little washed out. I was also a little close for the 500mm thats why some of the grass is out of the frame on the left antler! But i did my best to include most if it 🦌
