So grateful and overwhelmed for all the @bondingnetflix love already. A huge part of what makes this season so special are these two women here. My Writers’ Room, my coworkers, my friends @oliviatroy and @itsnanamensah. They not only shaped and crafted the story with me this season (shoutout to our writers assistant/ associate producer @charbgil we heart you gurl!) but they played key roles in production as well. Nana as Mistress Mira. A role I wrote with her in mind. And Troy as our BDSM Consultant and Intimacy Coordinator. Nana and I have known each since we both moved to NYC to pursue acting. (See slide 5 for a Where We Started side by side.) We did shitty 10 minute plays in tiny theatres, short films that no one saw, and wrote scripts that no one read, all the while encouraging and supporting each other. She is now not only a damn star as evidenced by her incredible work in Season 2 but she is a beautiful writer whose work and wit are all over this screen. To be in this moment with her now, knowing how far we’ve both come, is the honor of a lifetime. And Troy. Troy came into my life when I really needed her. The wisdom, kindness, humor, and yes expertise she brought to the show has given a richness, depth, and freedom to the story that even I didn’t know was possible. She is wonderful collaborator, writer, and light, who along with her dog, Bonding mascot and scene stealer, Moji, made every day more joyful by her very presence. Personally, she has become a cherished friend and professionally her work and business @repsonset is the advocacy in action every production needs. Give these ladies their 💐
