Today we welcomed a Ukrainian youth theater troupe to Russ & Daughters Brooklyn. @irondaleensemble raised funds to fly them from Lviv to perform, "Mom on Skype," a show written and performed in a bomb shelter. Before rehearsing for this weekend's show (ticket link in bio), they came for lunch. We showed them the bakery where they watched bagel-making in progress, learned the story behind hamantaschen, met our team who made thousands of them for our Hamantaschen for Ukraine fundraiser in March, and then they assembled and enjoyed their own classic bagels and lox with the works. To our surprise, they thanked us by singing a traditional Ukranian song. Get tickets to their show this Saturday and Sunday at Irondale Theater in Brooklyn and support these inspiring young aritsts. They are hoping to see enough tickets to buy a fighter jet.
