Music heals.... It was my therapy and my saving grace in my grade school years (and still is today). The arts in public schools have always and continue to be threatened by budgets cutbacks because it is deemed “not as important” for a young person’s education. Well.. they’re wrong. Without the arts in schools, you would have way less, if any artists to take your date to their shows, or have anything but talk radio to listen to in your cars. Artists make the world go around and it’s just as important as sports or any other form of entertainment IMHO. It’s more than that. For some of us, it’s the only way to express ourselves well. For some of us, it’s the only thing that makes us feel vital and alive. That’s why me and my friends @elizabethcookforsheriff and @katiepruittmusic (with a harmonica assist by @mickeyraphael of Willie Nelson’s group) got together to record a rendition of one of our favorite songs about our home state of Georgia “Walkin Back To Georgia” by Jim Croce. @newwestrecords is releasing it and it’s available now everywhere.
