Today is International Holocaust Remembrance Day. 77 years ago today, Auschwitz was liberated. But just a few weeks before that, 4 Jewish women were executed by public hanging. They were part of a group of 30 Jewish teenagers and young women prisoners who stole gunpowder and helped blow up a crematorium. Legend has it that moments before being executed, one of their leaders, Roza Robota, called out: “Sisters, revenge!” May their memories be blessings and inspirations.
