I’ve been meaning to post this... our breastfeeding days came to an end and I was able to capture one of our final feedings together ☁️🤍 I’m grateful I was able to breastfeed (I shared I had latching issues with Isabelle around month 2). I’m actually proud of myself for prioritizing breastfeeding (given the privilege that I can), being there for every nighttime feeding, and saying no to a lot of external stressors and saying yes to stay at home. I’ve shared this before, but I wish I had soaked in more time postpartum with Isabelle. I feel like I received a second chance this time around to be more patient, to be more gentle with myself, to not rush back to the world, to prioritize rest and being home with Colette— so many of you tell me I won’t get this time back, and it already feels like it’s flying by. It gives me a lot of perspective and makes me wish maternity and paternity leave was longer in this country, because it’s so important for the health of our bodies, babies, minds, and families. 🙏🏼 Something that happened that I didn’t expect was I pumped hundreds of bags... and she won’t drink thawed milk. I didn’t know about the enzyme issue with frozen milk, so now we’re exclusive formula + introducing solids. Any advice on solids would be appreciated, because she really doesn’t like anything. Anyway, I just want to say thank you for being on this postpartum journey with me. I love and appreciate you all and I hope you’re all taking care of yourselves and your hearts this season. Xx
