Simeon Michel is a Haitian artist who’s unique style is characterized by his flamboyant use of color and detail. His work focuses on countryside life depicting crop and field work in a vibrant backdrop and is one of my family’s favorite artists. His work is one of the many references that inspire the design at Kann. Recently we selected the dining table top surface, honed in on a color palette for the chairs and banquette and made a few other big design decisions. We are proud to work with so many local craftspeople to bring the custom made vision to life. Construction picks back up with our ceiling going in (I can’t wait to show you what we have planned), and kitchen flooring getting decided.
