Featuring live recordings, interview snippets, classic tracks as well as tracks from the Crass Records catalogue & community 🔊 Crass was & is the band that influenced me the most in high school - discovering their music & ethos helped set me down the path I’m on now & filled me with these intense beliefs & convictions I have in regards to the music industry & how you participate in the music ecosystem as an artist & supporter. It was an insane honor to get to work with Penny Rimbaud on a track for my album ‘Push’ - to hear his voice in my sonic world 🤯 and then to be asked to remix one of their tracks for their remix series was such a joy cuz I’d been making different edits of their songs for years & playing them at dj sets! of course had to remix banned from the roxy but also brought in some reality asylum into the remix to showcase Eve who’s impact is immeasurable I also featured a snippet from an interview with Penny where he talks abt how when crass first discovered the punk scene they were excited becuz they thought they’d finally found a community that was interested in helping each other out & going beyond themselves but then they quickly realized that wasn’t the case & it was yet another narcissistic group going after what they could get for themselves. It’s a quote I think abt a lot & where our place in the ecosystem is as artists - is it just to accomplish our individual success or can it go beyond that & transcend into something beyond the self - I’m always hoping to go to the beyond ✨
