One of my all time favourite throwbacks. 14 years ago today, I got a chance to cover President Obamas election win in Grant Park Chicago for @etalkctv Here’s how it went down though... Myself, along with 4 other producers, Miriam Elmaleh, Katie Lafferty, Paul Boynett and Ross Finkelstein were so engaged in the election that we were going to Chicago with or without cameras. We just wanted to be in the city and be a part of this historic moment. We asked our bosses if we could cover it for the show, and they said No! I remember saying, fine I’ll just take my vacation and go on my own dime. They said, are you serious?? Next thing I know, our little team scored media passes and we were in the Windy City passing out flyers, making calls, and also doing our job, covering Obamas win!
