The ‘chaîne opératoire’ plays an important part in the processing of our raw materials that goes into making a batch. It describes the different stages of production from the acquisition of raw material to the final object, and includes several stages inspired by ancient glass making methodologies. The preparation of these materials before being made into glass is thorough and labour intensive, but places emphasis on the importance of each individual material element, its origin and how it can influence the appearance and durability of the glass.
