Today, India celebrates 75 years of independence and we cannot forget the name Mahatma Gandhi during this celebration. His legacy is one of peace and #nonviolence. My father was deeply inspired by his teachings of nonviolent resistance, writing that “while the Montgomery boycott was going on, India’s Gandhi was the guiding light of our technique of nonviolent social change.” Today, let us uplift his legacy and let it continue to inspire nonviolent social change in India, here in the U.S., and around the world.
