Safe water and effective hygiene practices are vital to patient safety, especially in healthcare settings where proper Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) can significantly reduce infections and support accurate diagnosis. On this World Patient Safety Day, Freshwater Project International (FPI), reaffirms its commitment to creating safer healthcare environments in #Malawi by enhancing WASH and Power systems. Through collaboration with esteemed partners, FPI has made substantial improvements in health centers across Malawi by upgrading water, sanitation, and power systems. By integrating solar-powered solutions, FPI has established sustainable systems that address both WASH and power challenges, ensuring a continuous supply of clean water and electricity. This holistic approach not only improves healthcare quality for thousands of patients but also provide healthcare professionals with a safe and reliable environment necessary for their diagnostic practices, protecting them from preventable infections, reducing healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) and enhancing patient safety.
