Tulsi Temple 🕊☁️ thank you deeply to the intimate group of 7 who joined in this hands on herbal garden workshop (and warmly embraced Moon’s presence). We started this session with a Tulsi Sensory plant meditation, meeting Holy Basil through our senses to meet the spirit of this sacred herb: sight, touch, smell, and taste. We discussed the long history, lore, energetics, and physical qualities of Tulsi and how she can support our body, mind, and spirit. We then harvested fresh Tulsi from the abundant 8 plants in the garden and learned real folk magic medicine, making strong tinctures in the garden with our hands. We finished the morning off with Tulsi infused foods: Tulsi + Nettle Pesto with garden tomatoes and hand ground Tulsi Rose salt on fresh baguettes. Smoky Eggplant + Tulsi dip with coconut yogurt, coriander sprinkle, and fresh garden vegetables. Strawberry + Tulsi shortcake with Tulsi Crème Fraiche. Rose, Tulsi, Marshmallow Solar infusion and as always flower water. Tulsi is one of the most enchanting herbs to me and a beautiful plant to begin a relationship with. There’s a reason Tulsi is considered the earthly manifestation of goddess Lakshmi, a true Earth mother here to bring blessings, protection, and longevity. I so look forward to sharing this space and this practice with all those who feel the call. I treat this garden as a sanctuary space, as a community space to come together, share, and live in reciprocity.
