Super late post, but still worth sharing. Receiving a massage 💆🏻‍♀️ by the beach was a first for me. I was a bit hesitant since it is extremely hot in Isla Mujeres, Mexico. Although the tables sit under the shade, I couldn’t imagine it being comfortable with the heat and sand combined. Despite my hesitation, I decided to give it a try as a birthday gesture to my mom. I have to say, I was absolutely wrong. It was the best massage I’ve had in a long time. Prior to my scheduled time, I rinsed off at the hotel to get rid of any sand on my body. You don’t have to worry about getting sand on your feet as you walk over. The therapist rinses them off with water before you begin your massage service, which includes an exfoliating & hydrating mask 🧖🏽‍♀️, along with an exfoliating foot scrub👣. All is completed in the total of 60 mins. My therapist, Alejandra, who had incredible hands 👐🏽, performed a medium pressure massage like I had requested. As she made her way from my back to my feet I could feel the ocean breeze keeping me cool. I could hear a combination of waves, birds, and music in the background. I took deep breaths as I embraced the moment to fully relax and let go of any tension. She finished off with the foot scrub. Instead of using a hot towel, she used water to rise them over a small bucket. That was a subtle and perfect touch. The breeze cooled me down since my feet were wet. I was starting to get warm by then. After turning over, she applied an exfoliating mask and a hydrating aloe mask. In between she gave me the best scalp massage ever! No exaggeration, you can tell she loves what she does. She even made my hair look nicer than when we started 😅 it’s usually the other way around. I felt so pampered. I wish I did it sooner. I would have loved to receive another massage while we where there. I would absolutely recommend both a massage by the beach as well as requesting Alejandra at tables by the Buhos Bar, Playa Nortes, Isla Mujeres 🏝
