Provincetown Carnival is a weeklong celebration full of parties, fairs, cruises, fun runs, drag shows and culminating in a parade down Commercial Street, which often attracts more than 90,000 spectators a year. The first P-town Carnival took place in 1978 as a way to market the town to queer people more specifically. It’s been a tradition ever since.
Last year, the Carnival theme was “Somewhere Over The Rainbow,” but official parade was cancelled even before the summer started because of COVID. Still, P-town and its guests can’t help but celebrate this fun week.
