Provincetown Carnival is a weeklong celebration full of parties, fairs, cruises, fun runs, drag shows and culminating in a parade down Commercial Street, which often attracts more than 90,000 spectators a year. The first P-town Carnival took place in 1978 as a way to market the town to queer people more specifically. It’s been a tradition ever since. Last year, the Carnival theme was “Somewhere Over The Rainbow,” but official parade was cancelled even before the summer started because of COVID. Still, P-town and its guests can’t help but celebrate this fun week. Hear more about it on this week’s episode of “Welcome To Provincetown” by tapping the link in our bio. (Photo courtesy of tedeytan/Wikimedia Commons) #WelcomeToProvincetown #Ptown #Provincetown #CapeCod #RoomTone #WitnessDocs #Stitcher #Carnival #LGBTQ #PtownCarnival
