I first met @vikaskhannagroup eleven years ago His New York restaurant already had a Michelin star but Vikas was down-to-Earth, grounded & humble. He went on to become more famous than any Indian chef had ever been.Next he directed award-winning films. But Vikas has not changed at all. He is as grounded and as humble as he was then. He wears his fame & his success lightly. A true gem of a human being. I met @ranveer.brar a little later & liked him instantly. But one day we met one on one for a coffee in mumbai and I was blown away by the depth of his knowledge especially on Awadhi food. Because he is good looking & charismatic, we sometimes forget that he is a serious chef with a huge knowledge base & amazing skills. There is a lot to learn from him. I was thrilled when they both came to the @culinarycultureco and #mastersofmarriottbonvoy event in Kolkata. The event was to celebrate the work of the great @chefmanishmehrotra who will now cook three meals in Kolkata as part of the Masters of Marriott series, the first Indian chef to follow Heston Blumenthal, @massimobottura & @maurocolagreco all of whom run three Michelin star restaurants.
