Some notes as a 30 year old influencer/content creator from Hawai’i with less than 10k followers: 1. Believe in yourself. You are your biggest advocate! 2. Normalize your most authentic self and you’ll never feel like you have to perform. 3. Stick to what aligns with you. It’s easy to see what everyone else is doing but ask yourself if that’s even what you wanted in the first place. 4. Followers don’t always mean more money and success. Focus on you and your community, the rest will follow but even then — I’ll take a smaller engaged community and ability to convert sales over a big following and no substance. 5. Don’t forget why you started! 6. Timing is everything so trust that what’s for you will not pass you and also be open to the perspective that new and better things will arise beyond your wildest dreams. That’s how it worked out for me! Thank you endlessly to each and every brand that has shared their creations with me! I don’t take any of this for granted and I just want everyone out there to know that your current circumstances, hardships, misrepresentation or lack thereof is not a cap to your potential and ability to do great things. Everything doesn’t have to be perfect to start, just start! I love an underdog, a success story, a journey filled with character and resilience like our ancestors. Take up space and own it!
