This Wednesday, September 21, 2022, at 10 am PT/1 pm ET, our panel focuses on “Workers’ Rights.” In the movement towards sustainability, fashion policy must include legislation aimed at safeguarding and protecting workers, improving workplace conditions and labor rights, and securing fairer, living wages.

Maeve Galvin is the Global Policy and Campaigns Director at Fashion Revolution. She also manages the European Citizens Initiative (ECI) project. Maeve has worked on strategic partnerships and business and human rights for the past twelve years across NGOs, the UN, and private philanthropy, including the International Labour Organisation (ILO) across Better Factories Cambodia and Better Work, and managed C&A Foundation’s worker empowerment and transparency partnerships in Bangladesh and Myanmar.

Marissa Nuncio is the Executive Director of the Garment Worker Center, a worker rights organization leading the anti-sweatshop movement to improve conditions for thousands of Los Angeles garment workers.

Francisco Tzul is a garment worker and leader at the Garment Worker Center in Los Angeles.
Panelist: Charlotte Tate, Coalition to End Uyghur Forced Labour
Charlotte Tate is the Advocacy Lead for the Coalition to End Uyghur Forced Labour, a coalition of civil society organizations and trade unions united to end forced labor and human rights abuses against people from the Uyghur Region in China. Previously, Charlotte was the Labor Campaigns Director at Green America and also worked for the International Labor Rights Forum.
