Let’s reduce food waste by storing things properly. SAVE THIS LIST *****Removing the rubber bands on vegetables is always recommended. 🍌Bananas - stored AWAY from other fruits. Ripening fruits produce ethylene gas and cause everything in close proximity to ripen as well. *** Nearly bad nanners? Peel them and freeze for smoothies in the future or to make banana bread. 🌿Cilantro, Green Onion, Parsley, Asparagus etc. - remove the band and store in mason jar with a few inches of water in the fridge. Cut bottoms everyone you them to replenish. 🥬 Packaged Greens - wash and wrap in a paper towel and store in a sealed container in fridge. *clamshell containers - store lid side down in fridge. 🥑 Avocado - store underripe at room temperature and once ripe store in the fridge. 🥛Store dairy products at the back of the fridge. 💦 Wash produce as you go, not all at once. 🫐 Berries - quick soak them in Vinegar (3 parts water / 1 part vinegar) will prevent molding. Rinse and pat dry when done. Grains stored in air tight containers. Finally, check your fridge temp that’s it’s between 38-40 degree’s Fahrenheit. Do you do these things? Did any surprise you? Conscious living also means taking additional steps to reduce waste not just in plastic. #sustainablyaimee #foodwaste #foodwastewarriors #reducewaste #reducefoodwaste #foodstorage #consciousliving #consciousconsumer #fruitsandveggies #fridge
