Introducing our 2022-23 Junior Dancer of the Year: ✨KARSON POWELL✨ Amanda’s Dance Express LLC

 Hello! I am Karson Powell, and I love to dance. I am grateful for the gift of dance that God has given me, and I am honored to represent Tremaine as Junior DOTY for the 2022-2023 season. Dancing has always been a part of my life. My parents often share that when I was born, the “show started.” My hope is that I inspire others to dance, perfect my gift, and represent family and friends in the best light. Amandas Dance Express (ADX) studio was where my sister started to dance. With us being 12 years apart, watching her gave me a chance to sit and dream. Ms. Amanda gave me my first tutu and ballet shoes for my 1st birthday. I am very grateful and fortunate to have Ms. Amanda and the entire ADX family in my life. Their love and support helps me to grow not only as a dancer but as a person. I am a proud Texan and live in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. I am fortunate to have supportive parents, Tai and Eric, and a big sister, Kennedy. Their love and sacrifice are priceless and have helped me match my talent with hard work. I am also fortunate to have worked with, and learned from, some dedicated instructors and gifted choreographers from across the nation, including Ashlé Dawson, Suzanne Green, Joey Tarwater, Lauren Parker, Tina Taylor, Lola Davis, and many more. Although I danced at my first Tremaine Dance Convention at 6 years old; I attended many prior, tagging along with my sister. I had my first experience with trying out for DOTY during Nationals 2021. I did not make the finals. But I was determined to improve and become a better dancer. I made it my goal to reach, put the work in, and it paid off. Tremaine is not just a convention to me but a family I look forward to being with every year. I am honored to have been selected, especially with such amazing talent throughout 2021-22 season. I am truly thankful for this opportunity and look forward to representing Tremaine Dance as one of your 2022-23 Junior DOTY’s. Help us in congratulating Karson!!!🥳❤️
