Five Mountain Bluebird eggs inside a nestbox near the top of the Sugarloaf liftline! This particular nestbox was actually intended as a home for owls, but often times the owls forego the boxes at higher elevations, and songbirds build a seasonal home inside. Our team partners with @TracyAviary to check on these boxes weekly, conducting a 5-minute observation and a quick photo. We politely check inside the boxes with a small camera to try and limit the amount of stress on the birds. This information is shared with the Forest Service to continue their protection in the ski area. Stay tuned as we will try to report on these hatchlings throughout the summer. 🐣
