Mr Shaun Roberts. Not only one of the finest promoters to ever do it, but one of the finest humans to walk among us. Always ready with razor-sharp wit, a knowing look and a story to match. A model of resilience and grace to the very last moment. Shaun’s engagement with culture was as both informed insider and rowdy upstart. He walked the line between these contrasting positions with all the attitude that anyone with a real lust for life would want. A man who simultaneously knew the history of his chosen field, but whom also had a healthy enough irreverent streak to know when to disrupt it. He could disagree with you with so much elan that you might question yourself. Never bland, never toeing the line. Always interested, forever inquisitive. I’m thankful that we got to break bread together in September due to the Circus crew inviting us to join them one evening in Ibiza.
