🚨swipe for the next slide🚨 3 weeks ago was the first ever London LGBTQ+ Promoter Union* meeting. I’m so excited by all of the promoters from across the queer spectrum coming together and being heard by government and local authority so we can provide a safer space for our community and be recognised for the huge role that nightlife and clubland has contributed to the cultural landscape in the UK and beyond. I have the honour of taking the next meeting alongside @babetheory and @luciablayke I feel like this is a monumental and important step to recognise how special nightlife, especially LGBTQ+ nightlife, is. Without the stepping stone of the nightclub we wouldn’t have some world-class artists, musicians, DJs, producers, designers, performers, dancers and more that we have today. We have huge cultural and economic value and the UK would be a much dreary uncultured place without us and the elders that came before us. We have so much power when we unite and when we bring our collective communities and groups together the possibility makes me so excited to see what we can change for the better when we come together and work as a unit. To be the best and make sure we represent everyone we need every LGBTQ+ promoter who is based across london to come together and work with us so we can change the way nightlife is viewed for the better and give us the support and recognition LGBTQ+ promoters and their communities have played in shaping the cultural landscape within the UK.
