Sometimes we go to people looking for support, and walk away feeling wounded by judgment, shame or a lack of compassion. It’s important to assess, is this mine to carry or is it theirs? People may not be able to give you what they have a hard time giving themselves. Knowing this distinction matters because sometimes we are seeking validation from others who are not equipped to give it to us. Be mindful.
