I don’t think I’ve ever finished a book so quick in my life. I was gripped from beginning to end. I’ve been following Alex’s journey since about 2005 and even have the honour of meeting and knowing her. But there’s always more to someone than meets the eye, everyone has their own story and I’m so grateful you have shared yours @alexscott2 .So brave, honest and inspiring. I can relate to so many parts of this book, from growing up in the East End, to tackling working “In a man’s world” . I must admit when I first saw the title a few weeks back I said, “How not to be strong? What the bloody hell does that mean?!” Of course I didn’t get it, all I know is to be strong for myself and my kids, I know no different. But after reading your story, you’re right! I have to learn how not to be strong at times. I’m sure so many people can take away something inspiring from your book regardless of their generation, gender or social class.
