Introducing our 2022-23 Teen Dancer of the Year: ✨DYLAN BARNES✨ Jody Phillips Dance Company Overland Park, KS
 Hello! My name is Dylan Barnes, and I am 14 years old. I am honored to represent Tremaine Dance as your new Teen Dancer of the Year. I began my dance journey at the age of five with Jody Phillips Dance Company, under the direction of Jody Phillips and Lexi Glover. I am also part of the Pre-Professional Ballet Company at JPDC where we hold an annual performance benefiting over 600 children in the KC area through “Operation Breakthrough.” Jody Phillips Dance Company has always been a comfortable and loving environment with the most supporting staff and dancers. They have helped me develop into the dancer I am today. Without Jody Phillips Dance Company, I would not be able to attend the conventions and competitions that have transformed me as a dancer and furthered my knowledge of the dance world. Dance has been a huge part of my life and will continue to be in the future. I can only remember dancing for hours in my room knowing that this is what I am going to do for the rest of my life. This past year I was honored to be cast as the lead in our school musical “Crazy for You”, while maintaining a 4.0 GPA. This has opened my eyes to the other side of the entertainment world which I know I will want to further pursue. I cannot thank Dr. Joe Tremaine and the Tremaine staff enough for everything they have done for me and this amazing opportunity. Over this last year I have had the pleasure to be a part of the incredible Tremaine Performance Company, a truly extraordinary learning experience from auditioning and assisting while learning. Tremaine has always been a safe place for me and a place where I can feel loved and appreciated without being judged. With this Dancer of the Year title, I want to further inspire other dancers and continue to grow into a professional dancer. I will also continue to spread the message that Boys Dance Too and to never let other people’s words define who you are. I am ecstatic to be your 2022-23 Teen Dancer of the Year and grateful for this opportunity. Help us in congratulating Dylan!!!🥳❤️
