When I first started working in music, all I wanted was an ear to listen and a foot in the door. Then when I got into a more secure position, I made a promise to continually do and be that in as many ways as I am able. To be honored by @FemmeItForward for being a mentor is such an honor, but I wouldn’t be here without my tribe. To my mother who taught me that service and selflessness are the the greatest act of love, I am forever grateful for you. To my friends, my family, my mentors, my mentees, my peers, to all the women who see me, speak life into me, pour into me, who have had my back relentlessly — I love and adore you. I am grateful for you. You refuse to let me shrink myself to fit anyone else’s box and you have made me better in knowing you and I hope I will make others better in that same way. To all the other women honored, I am blessed to be able to share this space with you, I am proud of you, and grateful to be able to watch you continue to soar.
