I’ll never forget the day that I met @joey_defrancesco . We were at the Detroit Jazz festival and I was a guest on the set with him and @ronblakemusic ! Right before we hit, I asked him “what are we going to do?”, as I worried about what tunes we’d play... He looked right at me with the biggest smile ever and said “what are we gonna do? We’re gonna swing baby!”... And, man... we launched!! What an incredibly amazing, storied and huge part of the legacy of this music. He will truly be missed in this form... but his vibrations remain!
