@flyandfamousblackgirls just posted pics from the Love and Hip Hop Season 1 premiere party and it took me down a long road of memories... As some of you know, I was an MUA for Seasons 1 and 2 of Love and Hip Hop Atlanta (both reunions as well). It was my first official full-time freelance job (actually I started working there while still working at the MAC counter in Nordstrom at Perimeter Mall). @sosobrat was the one who referred me for the job because I was doing her makeup at the time (shouts out to Brat always and forever for that plug and @juiceunlimited 😘.) At that point in my career, I thought I had MADE IT lmaooooo. It was 2012 and I was living my dreams of being this sought after Makeup Artist after being fired from my engineering jobs. Never knowing how far or where this career choice would take me but was always so appreciative of such major opportunities to propel my skills. I was greeeeeennn and didn’t know anything about the industry lol. The show had just aired and it was a major success for our culture... Fast forward to now in 2022, this is confirmation for me and hopefully to whoever is reading this that God has more for you. Right when you think you’ve reached your peak, God will bless you beyond your wildest desires and dreams if you believe in yourself and him. I look back at these pics from 10 YEARS AGO and smile... it was such a hard journey with many ups and downs, but to still be standing, loving life and loving what I do, is truly a blessing... Shouts out to any of my fellow MUAs who worked on this show, it was gruesome but so fun and educational, even the ratchet times 😬🫣. Who remembers when I use to work for this show and post pictures? This was right when Instagram started so I would post on mainly Facebook or youtube lol. Who wants to see more THROWBIKE pics from my archive??? Nothing has changed tho... I was PAINTING GIRLS DOWN back then in 2012, and am STILL 10 years later applying pressure. That’s an accomplishment... 🙏🏾
