If you're not watching it on ESPN, the NCAA Women's Lacrosse Championship game is happening today and it's awesome! ⁠ ⁠ Inspired by my love of sports and lacrosse coaching girlfriend, my May creative shoot was of her and some of her friends playing both lacrosse and soccer. I haven't done field-based sports portraits in a while, and now I remember how nuanced and fun it can be! ⁠ ⁠ Timing is everything to get the right moment of action. Combine that with finding images that demonstrate great technique by the players, and keeping them in the light is a fantastic challenge. ⁠ ⁠ It also helped that all these wonderful women are hilarious and a blast to work with.⁠ ⁠ Most shots taken with a 42" octabox camera right with the sun as my accent light.
