It’s crazy how much stress can negatively impact your skin. I dealt with acne since high school but it was in early 2021 when my adult acne got really bad. It all started from a few nights of bad sleep which led to me having anxiety for the first time. Elevated stress and anxiety can have negative effects on your gut which can then lead to skin issues. Our body systems are all interconnected which is why I don’t think the western way of treating acne as just a skin problem is the best approach. My other mistake on this journey was using active ingredients too many times a week and exfoliating too often.
