As our country and @middlechurch commemorated 9/11 today, 21 years after the tragic attack on our nation, I was @williamsburgbaptistchurch preaching. My brother, Gen. Ron Lewis came to be with me. A US army vet, Ron is one of the thousands who stood on the wall in the so called War On Terror. He is a pilot, a soldier, a leader. He is my oldest little brother. A father, son, friend. MY friend. I drove him to West Point on his first day. Every where he was stationed, I went to visit. Germany, Korea, bases here in the US. Not Iraq. Not Afghanistan. I love him deeply. Ron obeyed orders from his commander in chief and went to the most dangerous hot-spots of the war. He did his duty. Bravely. Without wavering. His life on the line in response to this terror. In a terrible time in our history, Ron was heroic. I love you Ron. I’m glad you are alive. Terrorism sucks. War sucks. I pray for all who died here in our nation and in lands afar. I pray for their families. I pray for all the heroes and sheroes. For all the first responders-including Joey, Gloria and Lisa and their wounds. I pray for healing, for the end of this terror-filled time. And for peace. Dear God. Peace.
