Congratulations on your win on this episode @kevinmchale ! I never thought I’d have to do this, but I’m gonna share something, anticipating the potential comments on this post. Production and I had a meeting about which wigs i would have to be responsible for (Were too specific to the number, like a bird theme, or the girl might not have it in their collection and it matters, like a 1950s Avon lady). The day before performance day Violet approached me back stage. She brought her wig she was intending to wear for the episode and asked if I would be willing to make a couple small adjustments that would make it more to her liking, I was a little nervous about it knowing that these were subtle changes, indicating that she wanted a very specific thing, and two, knowing that Violet is extremely detail oriented. She made a comment at the end along the lines of: “It’s not big changes, I just would really appreciate it if you could make it younger/more ingenue that what it is”. I responded “yeah, it wouldn’t be a big deal, but im a little nervous but we will try”. She responded with a question: “nervous?”. I responded with my concerns I shared earlier. She responded: “Well, if you have time, I would appreciate it, but I know you are busy” I agreed to keep it in hopes I could make these changes. The next day i brought @violetchachki the touched up wig. She was happy with the results and grateful. She offered to pay me, but I declined since I did it on the show’s time, and I agreed with the show I would be willing to do such small changes even before the girls that were to provide their own wigs, arrived. Violet was always polite and respectful not on how she approached me and my time. She also valued my skills. I have seen and heard things online and through the grapevine. I did not share any of those concerns. All I personally saw was a professional at work respectful of the team I supervised. This was my personal experience. I wasn’t in her vicinity most of the time.
