Cruise stop 1: the fairytale town of Bruges 🏰😍
I’m starting a series to show you what exactly we did on each stop of our @celebritycruises 12 Nights Norwegian Fjords & Arctic Circle Cruise. You can find an overview video in my last post and lots of details in my “🇳🇴 Cruise” story highlight.
🏰 In Bruges we didn’t book any excursions as it’s very walkable and easy to explore on your own.
🚌 We took a shuttle from our ship to the city and back which was just €15 round trip per person.
⏱️ We only walked around downtown for 4 hours, and it was enough to see all these charming views and take plenty of pictures. Check my map on the last slide to see how close everything is!
➡️ If you prefer a guided tour, the most popular options are Bruges Canal Tour and Chocolate Making Workshop.
Prettiest places to see and fun things to do in just several hours:
* Lake of Love (Minnewater) – romantic lake with swans and willow trees
* Beguinage – peaceful white houses with a quiet feel
* Church of Our Lady Bruges – home to Michelangelo’s Madonna and Child
* Bonifacius Bridge – hidden fairytale bridge behind the church
* Basilica of the Holy Blood – ornate double-level chapel with a rich history
* Bruges Grote Markt – main square surrounded by colorful historic buildings
* Belfry of Bruges – medieval bell tower with 366 steps to the top
* Try a Belgian waffle at Chez Albert – warm, crispy, and right by the square
* Buy Belgian chocolate – I loved both The Chocolate Line and Dumon
* Rozenhoedkaai (Quay of the Rosary) – Bruges’ most iconic photo spot
* Take a 30-minute canal boat tour – a relaxing way to see Bruges from the water
Stay tuned for the details about all the other stops. Flåm is next 😍
