When the bill was written, we were looking at short-term measures to stop the spread. Now, the loans are being rolled out, but our restaurants have no open date in sight. This means we have to take funds to rehire staff of shuttered restaurants, only to lay them off again in 8 weeks. We need Congress to implement a clause that can help our industry survive - The 8 week period begins the later of: PPP funds being distributed or civic mandate being lifted without restriction for your particular city or state.
